This Sonoma County ADU remodel transformed an underutilized cottage into a highly functional home office and private gym tailored for modern work and wellness. The Cultured Palate Interior Design reimagine the space while complying with Sonoma County zoning requirements.
By widening two existing rooms—previously a small living area and bedroom—we created two distinct yet cohesive environments: a professional home office suitable for in-person and virtual meetings, and a spacious gym designed for daily use.
Designing Flexible Spaces for Sonoma County Living
The homeowners regularly work and train remotely, so sound control, layout efficiency, and flow were essential. Thoughtful space planning, effective room division, and smart technology solutions allow one owner to host virtual meetings while the other participates in live Zoom workouts—without disruption.
The addition of a powder room and direct access to an outdoor deck further enhanced the functionality and livability of this Sonoma County ADU interior design project.
