My Story

I’ve been designing for myself and helping friends with their spaces for two decades. Selecting finishes, designing interiors, remodeling, and refreshing properties from a high-rise in Chicago to homes in Piedmont, Chevy Chase, MD, San Leandro, and Sonoma I’ve turned my passion into The Cultured Palate Interior Design.

From City to Country

I’ve been fortunate to experience many different cultures, countries, and viewpoints and it informs my design sense. In the United States, I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest, the West, the greater Washington, D.C. area, Chicago, and both Northern and Southern California. I love urban environments and find joy in the quiet of the Sonoma Valley.

International Living

Years of travel and living abroad inspired me to create The Cultured Palate. I’ve traveled to 39 countries, including a year of travel after quitting my corporate job. My family lived in Mumbai, India for a few years and in Central America. I’ve been fortunate to experience a variety of cultures and explore the design aesthetic that makes each place so beautiful and unique.

Personal Chef

I’ve spent more than a decade as a personal chef. I know what makes a kitchen beautiful, functional, and inviting. TheDeliciousDish.net

Enjoyment

I’ve been blessed to raise two boys into fine young men and to find the love of my life, a true partner, to continue on the adventure of life. I love to cook and nothing makes me happier than to sit around the dinner table with family and friends. I enjoy working out, doing pilates, and practicing yoga. Travel will always be at the top of my list and I prioritize the people, the food, and the sites–in that order.
